The Diocese of New Ulm turned to Nuvera to handle their technology after the Director of IT retired.
Diocese of New Ulm’s Challenge
As the home to over 50,000 area Catholics, the Diocese of New Ulm has an important job to spread the spiritual word in 33 parishes and 28 schools across 15 counties in Southern Minnesota.
Typically, when you think of a church, technology isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but it has become an important part of the religious landscape. The Diocese in New Ulm had a Director of IT for several years but found that they were better suited giving Nuvera the reigns to their technology after his retirement.
Why They Chose Nuvera
The Diocese of New Ulm was looking to outsource their Information Technology (IT) and find new solutions after their Director of IT retired. While they do currently use Nuvera solutions, such as managed servers, switches, Internet, and Nuvera’s FlexVoice hosted phone solution, they wanted to evaluate all options before deciding. They looked at six other IT firms before deciding to stay local with the hometown Nuvera solution.
They found the pricing to be competitive with the other IT firms, already used Nuvera services, and appreciate the local service and support they receive. At the end of their evaluation period, it was an easy decision to have Nuvera provide them with IT support. The local presence meant that Nuvera could provide them with solutions to any problems that would arise, and there has been a positive working relationship between the two organizations for several years.
How the Product Has Helped and Their Experience with Nuvera
The Diocese of New Ulm has been pleased with their switch to Nuvera. They were able to save money with the change from having an in-house Director of IT to outsourcing, and they know they can trust Nuvera to be there when needed because of their local presence. Nuvera is contracted to send out IT professionals twice per month for preventative maintenance and to complete tasks that come from the site manager. Nuvera and the Diocese of New Ulm are better able to collaborate and come up with technology solutions that will benefit the Catholic churches and schools across Southern MN.
